At a site with a large down log (the two photos at left), a gray fox and a ringtail cat each visited and got their picture taken. At two other sites, another gray fox and a ringtail with more black rings on its tail successfully took the bait. In the general area where these cameras were located, CSERC staff was surprised to get reclusive ringtails repeatedly. Both the gray fox and ringtail can scamper right up the sides of trees.
