CSERC tracks communication records of the California agency responsible for consulting with the Park Service for Yosemite projects
Over the number of years that CSERC staff has spent dealing with the Sugar Pine Bridge project and other projects planned in Yosemite Park, we have noted that national historic preservation groups and the State Office of Historic Preservation have narrowly focused on preservation goals while CSERC believes that other objectives must also be considered.
In order to track how the State OHP has interacted with some special interest historic preservation advocates, CSERC requested pertinent communication records through a Freedom of Information Act request. Documents provided in response are provided below. Some emails appear to show an effective influence by the special interest groups on the State agency.
