Stanislaus National Forest: Earth Steward Hikes
When:  Saturdays, July 19, 26 & August 2, 9, 16
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Enjoy the benefits of a guided wilderness hike on these stewardship adventures with Sheri Betz, naturalist and explorer of all things wild. Take in the beauty and wonders of the wilderness areas while also taking some time to help maintain these places for future generations.  Leave No Trace projects may include trash pick up, disassembling campfire rings and removing campsite structures. Reservations required by calling the Summit Ranger station at 965-3434. Meet at the Summit Ranger Station at 9:00 a.m. and return around 4 p.m. Gas your car and be prepared to drive to the trailhead on some dirt roads. Bring lunch, water, hat, jacket, gloves, and wear sturdy hiking shoes.  A $1.00 donation per person is requested.

  • July 19th County Line Sword Lake
    Round Trip hiking mileage –approx. 4miles. Elevation Gain- 200 ft.
  • July 26th Strawberry Catfish Lake
    Round Trip hiking mileage- approx. 5 miles. Elevation Gain- 1200 ft.
  • August 2 Crabtree trailhead to Camp and then Bear Lake
    Round Trip hiking mileage- approx. 7.6 miles. Elevation Gain- 200 ft.
  • August 9 Gianelli Cabin trailhead to Chewing Gum Lake
    Round Trip hiking mileage- aprox. 9 miles. Elevation Gain- 1100 ft.
  • August 16 Sonora Pass to Blue Canyon Lake
    Round Trip hiking mileage- approx. 3 miles. Elevation Gain-1200 ft.
